Is a sale discount really a good deal? Check these five things
Look beyond the percentage off: compare the current price, recorded history and checkout conditions before deciding.
Check what the discount is measured against A percentage off a listed MRP does not tell you what shoppers usually paid. Read the store’s original-price information and compare today’s price with other available offers for the same variant.
Look at the dates in price history Saved prices can help you understand earlier observed prices, but they are not a complete record of every price a store has charged. Check the first and latest observation dates. A short history is not enough to call an offer an all-time low.
Check whether the history matches your product A broad search can include several models or pack sizes. Treat a summary across search listings as a search-level comparison, not proof that your exact model used to cost that amount. Confirm the model and store behind the price you are considering.
Separate unconditional prices from special offers Bank-card discounts, exchange credits and cashback can have eligibility requirements, minimum spends or delayed payouts. Compare the base payable price first. Do not subtract an offer you cannot use.
Decide from your need and budget Set the amount you are comfortable spending before a sale. If you can wait, use the price-alert page at https://getmyprice.in/price-alert to set a target. An alert is a prompt to check the live store listing—not a guarantee that the price or stock will remain available.
